Seeing the Broan RM503004 reminded me just how beautiful stainless steel is, and how, in its own magical way, it can make something plain look sophisticated. Part of the Broan Elite RM50000 Series, and one of the newer members of the Canada-based range hood maker, the Broan Elite RM503004 is a chimney hood inspired by elegant European bravura.
Adding to its sophisticated look are two well-integrated 40-watt incandescent lamps, which have been put in the right place not only for the range hood’s look but also to bring more convenience to users, especially benefiting those who have poor eyesight. The hood’s excellent lighting also produces attractive cook top illumination. However, make sure that you don’t mess up any of these lamps as the bulbs are not only hard to find, they are also sold at a rather costly price. The key is to take good care of every part of the range hood. As the Broan Elite RM503004 is engineered to perfection, and for longer and lasting use, poor maintenance could cut its life span short.
Easy installation
To begin installation, start off with the metal ductwork, followed by a wall cap. Fix the wiring and then install the mounting bracket. The 30-inch range hood is mounted on the ceiling, and largely depends on the height of it. For instance, the range hood is ideal for 8-foot and 9-foot ceilings so homeowners with ceilings at this height will not have an extra task to do. However, the range hood can still be used for 10-foot ceilings or higher just by installing the optional flue extension, sold separately from the package. Ideally, it is placed 24 to 30 inches above the cooking surface.
I highly recommend that you first measure the dimensions of where you are planning to install the range hood. It will save you more energy and time if you already know what you need to add and you need to lessen. Even if the Broan Elite RM503004 is very easy to install, you surely wouldn’t want to go back and forth just to complete the things you need for installation.
Hassle-free and worry-free cleaning
Cleaning is the most dreaded part of maintaining a range hood, at least for me. When I was still with my parents, I had to help my mom, but I found it easy cleaning my Broan Elite RM503004. Thankfully, it has an aluminum dishwasher-safe grease filter with a quick-release lock that makes it cleaning-friendly. The filter allows for hassle-free cleaning and maintenance. Meanwhile, there are also non-ducted recirculation filters which should be changed every 6 months. And since it is made of stainless steel, it is absolutely easier to clean than other hoods. Cleaning the range hood regularly will help preserve its beauty and sophistication. To clean the hood, I use hot water with soap or detergent.
User-friendly operations
Not surprisingly, I find operating the Broan Elite RM503004 very easy and convenient. The multi-speed side controls, which are found at the bottom of the hood, consist of: the light switch – for turning the lamps on and off; the blower switch – which enables me to select the motor operating speed of the 270 CFM centrifugal blower; and the pilot lamp – which opens up when the blower is turned on.
Probably the best feature of the hood is the Heat Sentry thermostat. This feature automatically turns on or speeds up the blower when it is triggered by too much heat off the top of the cooking area. This feature works automatically so you never have to worry about manually operating the thermostat and possibly get your hand burned. The Heat Sentry blower operates on minimal noise yet still efficiently manages to suck up the all smoke.
Fashionable yet Reasonably-priced
